Finis Foil Monofin fins are great for improving your kicking technique. These fins are linked together to create a dolphin kicking effect. With the fins connected, your whole body creates a wave and you use more leg muscles and strengthen the muscles around your torso and lower legs more than with standard fins.
The monofin is rubber. It's smooth and, for me, surprisingly light, and its bright yellow colour makes it stand out. I recommend this Finis Foil for advanced swimmers. It is good to know at least the basics of the butterfly kick before using a monofin.
The monofin keeps the swimmer's legs in the correct position next to each other and does not allow any shearing movement of the legs. Special rails on the blade of the fin are designed to ensure the correct stroke and movement of the blade. When buying a monofin, don't be afraid to try on larger sizes than you are used to. Only consider buying one once you have mastered the basics of the butterfly kick and butterfly technique without fins.
One final tip... if you try it in the water, you may be surprised at how tight your feet feel in the monofin, so try it on the side of the pool instead.
