Product description

The Speedo swim brand is one of the most famous. So what are their training paddles like?

Paddles are a great swimming training aid. They produce more resistance in the water, which makes them great for strengthening your upper body. They will help you get more feel for the water, so you'll improve your technique and have more fun training with them.

The paddles are lightweight, ergonomically shaped and designed to fit comfortably and allow you to swim well in them. The paddles have holes on their surface that make you feel the water nicely while not producing as much resistance. Personally, I like this better on the paddles because my hand doesn't slip and I can focus on my technique and swimming. For the more demanding swimmers, I have good news. Although the Speedo Tech Paddles are suitable for swimmers of all levels, they are amazingly stiff so you can push yourself hard with them. As for putting them on, it's very easy and after a few practices, it will only take you a few seconds.

With the silicone straps, you can comfortably adjust the paddles so that they don't pressure you anywhere and at the same time the paddles don't fall out of your hand. I personally was pleased with how quick and easy the adjustment is, so you can adjust the straps even during your workout.

In short, the paddles shouldn't be missing from your swim gear. They will push you forward and it doesn't matter what level of swimmer you are.

Here are a few tips for the end

Choosing the paddles: they should extend 10-20% over the palm of your hand, but if you are new to the paddles, feel free to choose a smaller size

Training:

  • If you're focusing on technique, it's a good idea to add a pull buoy to the paddles, slow down the pace and only focus on your arms and your body.
  • If, on the other hand, you want to strengthen your upper body and work on your speed, add fins to the paddles. You'll feel like flying above the water while giving your body a good workout.

Speedo

The Speedo brand is one of the world’s top 3 swimming brands. It was founded in 1914 in Australia by Alexander MacRae, and in 1927 the first Racer Back swimsuit saw the light of day. Speedo gained worldwide attention between 1932 and 1936 thanks to the sponsorship of the Olympic Games. Since the beginning of its participation in the swimming world, it has been dressing racing sport swimmers, who win in their swimsuits and represent their countries.

The fact that the brand is not just for racing sport swimmers was also demonstrated by the introduction of advanced swim trunks, which do not cover the upper part of the body and briefs without longer pant legs. The development of the materials was gradual and led Speedo to a high quality chlorine-resistant Endurance fabric. Today it’s known as Endurance10 or Endurance+. In 2000, the brand released the Fastskin swimsuit, thanks to which world records were broken.

The desire to still conquer the swimming world was underscored on their 80th birthday with the introduction of the new LZR Racer racing swimsuit. Michael Phelps swam in this swimsuit from Speedo and won 8 gold medals. The brand does not only address swimwear, but also other needs for swimmers, such as swimming goggles, caps, aids and accessories. It continuously and globally promotes a healthy lifestyle through water movement, constantly advancing and addressing not only racing sport swimmers.
