The Tyr Ultralite Snorkel Elite is an amazing swimming aid that will make your training more fun and allow you to focus on technique. With precise head and body positioning, you'll be able to keep an eye on the entry of your hands into the water and the effectiveness of your strokes. Your head stays upright and you don't need to make any head movements for air inhalation. Swimming with a snorkel also improves lung capacity as you have a limited supply of oxygen, which is a huge advantage.
This snorkel is smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the Tyr Ultralite Snorkel 2.0, and I really like the look of it.
The snorkel has a great rubberized front mount that keeps the snorkel from moving around unnecessarily. Of course, the snorkel comes with a silicone mouthpiece that you can easily remove and clean. The mouthpiece is very comfortable and just the right size. Thanks to the vent valve, you can breathe beautifully with it. It serves to quickly and efficiently exhale the water out on the way down after the inversion, rather than having to exhale the water through the tube. It's a very fast, efficient and convenient way.
When you make the turn, water will enter your snorkel and you have to get it out by exhaling quickly. Some people can do it in one sharp exhale, others can do it two or three times in succession, everyone prefers something different and it's very much about the practice.
At first, you will find swimming with a snorkel strange and it will be harder for you to breathe through it, but give it time and after a few practice sessions you will be fine.
There were two things I liked the most. The snorkel is really lightweight, minimalist, and even my pro swimmer friend told me that my snorkel was nice and small. After experiencing other snorkels, one thing surprised me the most. With the other snorkels I had to exhale the water twice after going underwater to get all the water out, but with the Tyr Ultralite Elite Snorkel all it took was one strong exhale, all the water was gone and I could continue to enjoy other pools, and I see that as the biggest advantage of this snorkel, thumbs up to Tyr.
The snorkel is really lightweight and beautiful. The only downside is that the snorkel moves a bit from side to side after quick flip turns,, but that definitely didn't ruin my enjoyment of the swim.
I would really recommend this snorkel to anyone. Both beginners and more advanced swimmers. Everyone can definitely swim with it. So go ahead and have a lot of fun.

Did you know that the TYR brand is named after the Norwegian god of warriors? It is all the more interesting because it was founded in 1985 in California by a swimsuit designer and Olympic medalist. Only one thing could arise from this combination - one of the most successful swimming and sports brands in the world. TYR’s success lies mainly in the fact that they are not slowing down in innovation, new designs and technologies.
Every year they create with something new, whether it’s new material not only for racing swimwear, self-darkening lens for goggles or unobtrusive designs of swimming caps, accessories suitable for swimming, or swimming aids.
