Product description

The pull buoy is a great aid that is most often used for swimming without legs and to strengthen the upper part of the body (arms, shoulders, pectoral muscles) and to improve the stroke, technique. This pull buoy is made from light foam and it comes in three basic colour combinations, I chose blue.

Matuska Dena pull buoy is the most common pull buoy and you can see them in almost all swimming pools, due to its availability and lower price.

This pull buoy is symmetrical on both sides, while other pull buoys have one side wider than the other. The shape of this pull buoy is ideal for beginners.

You can swim all strokes with the Matuska Dena pull buoy, improve your technique and keep track of whether you glide on the water surface or just hardly moving forward. The pull buoy helped me the most in the crawl technique, I had time to focus on my high elbows, long arm stroke and proper head position.

Although I prefer swimming with a kickboard, I try to include the pull buoy in my training, for better endurance, technique and as a great aid that will diversify your training.

The biggest advantage of this pull buoy is affordability, but from my experience, I must say that after some time it starts to peel and mould but if you take good care of it and let it dry after your training it will serve you a long time.

You can place the pull buoy between your thighs, which is the most common and comfortable way to use it or you can place it between the ankles. If you don't have a kickboard but you want to swim with your legs only, you can use it as a kickboard as well. Swimming with your legs only with the pull buoy is harder than with a kickboard as the pull buoy’s surface is smaller and you need to focus on your balance.

There is a wide selection of pull buoys in various colours, brands and sizes on the market and I would recommend this one mostly for beginners and recreational swimmers.
