Product description

Tyr Catalyst Stroke Training Paddles are great for strengthening your upper limbs, improving your technique using them underwater, including the streamline.

For example, Ryan Lochte, one of the best swimmers in the world, swims with Tyr Catalyst Stroke Training Paddles.

You can grasp the paddles in several ways, as they have many holes in them. The basic variation is to hold your wrist and middle finger with the silicone straps attached to the paddles, or you can leave only the one on the middle finger that way you move forward with improving your technique.

Some may say the paddles look like plexiglass with holes and coloured edges, but I like this simple design. They look great during swimming.

There is a difference between the right and left paddle, you will see the inscription right/left on the top, but it's also easily recognizable by its shape.

The paddles are straight and amazingly stiff but, in the water, they bend a little for better adjustment to the palm. While I was swimming with these paddles I felt faster, and I was bringing the best from my body. Thanks to the fact that the paddles are perforated, I felt the water more, my palm slip less on the paddle surface and overall I had a great feeling when swimming. From personal experience, you can swim as fast as you can and perform the breaststroke or butterfly turn whit these paddles without worrying that they will break.

A big plus is the wide selection of sizes so everyone can choose. The paddle should expand the palm by 10-20%, but even if you chose smaller paddles than your palm you can use them for sculling.

On the bottom part, you will notice a curved cutout, without which swimming with Tyr Catalyst paddles wouldn't be possible. That curve is made to simulate the palms' natural movement in the water because at the beginning of the stroke our wrist bends.

The only drawback I had with these paddles is that the silicone straps sometimes loosened when I was sprinting, but overall Tyr can be proud of their originality, the rigidity of the paddles and my overall experience was very pleasant.

If you're not sure which size to choose, you can always call our store or write us on our website chat and we will be happy to advise you.

A great tip in conclusion:

Take off the strap which is holding your wrist attached to the paddle and leave only the one on your middle finger, you can even leave some space between your finger and the silicone strap. So now is the time to improve the technique. The paddles will be loose on your hands and with a bad technique they can slide on the side or fall off of your palm so you need to pay more attention to the correct entry of the hand into the water. You will learn something new and it will move you further.

TYR

Did you know that the TYR brand is named after the Norwegian god of warriors? It is all the more interesting because it was founded in 1985 in California by a swimsuit designer and Olympic medalist. Only one thing could arise from this combination - one of the most successful swimming and sports brands in the world. TYR’s success lies mainly in the fact that they are not slowing down in innovation, new designs and technologies.

Every year they create with something new, whether it’s new material not only for racing swimwear, self-darkening lens for goggles or unobtrusive designs of swimming caps, accessories suitable for swimming, or swimming aids.
